Willapa Bay... this is the last beacon left there.
The first lighthouse built on the north of the entrance to Willapa Bay, was originally called Shoalwater Bay Lighthouse.  On Dec. 26, 1940 a storm eroded under and demolished the first lighthouse.  Since then the Coast Guard has built several beacons, each one placed further inland as the erosion continued.  This one is 3/4 of a mile from where the first one stood.
