This book is simply what its title proclaims: Bob and Sandra Shanklin's List of all existing U.S. Lighthouses. (Guide Book to United States Lighthouses) It lists each lighthouse by state, with a map showing it's approximate location. There is a sketch of one lighthouse per state. This book was updated, revised and reprinted Jan. 2006. We have noted all the lighthouses damaged or lost in the storms of summer, 2005 and Hurricane Katrina. If you chase or collect lighthouses, here is a perfect way to keep track of them! At first, we printed this book on high speed copiers at Office Depot or a print shop. It was bound with a plastic spine. Now we have a professionally printed book that we are proud to present to you. When we started our project of photographing every Lighthouse in the U.S., there was no list. It took a lot of research, travel, (dirty work, but someone had to do it) and a lot of backtracking to find them all. We are proud to say we have photographed every standing Lighthouse in the U.S., including Alaska & Hawaii.
