It was very close to the levee on Lake Ponchartrain.
(It once sat IN the Lake)

Ponchartrain Lighthouse originally sat out in the water, with the
house attaced by a walkway. Eventually earth was filled in
around it. At one time, an amusement park ride was built
around it. It, also, is in New Orleans on the banks of Lake
Ponchartrain. |
