The first time we saw Rose
Island
we were on a U.S. Lighthouse
Society tour. The lighthouse was
in bad shape, the restoration barely
started. Members of the
Rose Island Lighthouse Foundation
have beautifully restored it to its
1912 condition.
People can arrange to stay there
overnight or become keepers for a
week, for a fee. Sounds like a
wonderful experience! |
