Some years ago, we took a lighthouse tour with the U.S.
Lighthouse Society.
One of the places we went was North Dumpling lighthouse. We were
there at the invitation of
Dean Kamen, a successful inventor, who has since invented the
Segway Human Transporter,
among many other things.
WE
had a great time, including being sworn in as citizen's of North
Dumpling, where Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream is the National Food,
and brussel sprouts are against the law. I found myself in
a conversation with the
man who was dispensing the beer. Later, someone asked me if I
knew who I was talking to.
I said "I don't know. Some hired help?"
Well, it turned out to be Dick Rhutan who not long before had
flown an ultralight plane around the world. |
