Port
Ponchartrain Lighthouse originally sat out in the water,
with the
house attacked by a walkway.
Eventually earth was filled in
around it.
At one time, an amusement park ride was built
around it.
It, also, is in New Orleans on the banks of Lake Ponchartrain.

This photo was taken before the levee was built and the land
filled in.
Also before the top was built higher. They changed the
shape of it,
as you can see.
